Q1 Letter - Thoughts From Leadership

We’re excited to kick off our first “Fiegen Shop Talk” email and appreciate the opportunity to share with you some of the what’s been happening at Fiegen Construction.

The last couple years have taught us a lot of things. It taught us the power of community, to keep moving forward and how to find inspiration during difficult times. Despite the challenges, we have a lot to feel optimistic about and we’re more motivated than ever to continue to build the brightest future we can for our employees, clients and community.

As workforce shortages continue to dominate conversations and recent policy discussions in Pierre, we feel all the more blessed to workday in and day out with some of the best individuals around. At the end of February, we held our 2nd Annual Employee Rally where we took the evening to celebrate our successes and recognize the Fiegen team’s hard work and dedication. These events are a great reminder of how lucky we are to have hundreds of years of combined experience with the best professionals in the business.

As we close out this year’s first quarter and put 2021 further behind us, we continue to feel optimistic about the rest of 2022. We continue to experience a booming economy in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area and expect to see an additional increase in local private sector investments in healthcare, cyber-security and warehousing. With the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation, the construction industry is likely to see small businesses looking for energy efficiency upgrades and manufacturing modernization, as well as the state of South Dakota continuing to invest in educational projects.

With all the current and potential work ahead of us, our team will continue to focus on improving our internal processes, along with expanding our technological capabilities to help improve data gathering and efficiency within our company. We want Fiegen Construction to continue to be at the forefront of innovation, creativity and quality. Most importantly, we will relentlessly continue to work on improving our company culture to make Fiegen Construction a great place to work now and into the future!
