Happy New Year to you all!
With 2023’s warmer than usual end to the year helping us wrap up projects nicely.….BAM, here comes the snow and freezing cold in 2024!
Before we move on, we want to take a moment to reflect on the past year. Officially, fiscal year 2023 was our largest volume of work completed in the history of the company. Undoubtedly, it was filled both with achievements and challenges, but your continued hard work, ingenuity, dedication to quality and safety, and great relationships with our clients, subcontractors, suppliers and coworkers, led to the continued outstanding reputation we have in the community. And yes, we have proof of that! Towards the end of 2023, we hired an outside consultant to complete a market study for us, conducting interviews with our clients, subcontractors, suppliers and Fiegen employees, which will be shared at the upcoming rally in March. We wrapped up projects from 2023 such as Sanford/Lewis Drug MVP, Huether Tennis addition, Parker High School, Prairie Dental, Midwest Truss & Panel, First International Bank & Trust, Perennial Office Building, House of Brands, Dell Rapids Dental, and Sammons Financial just to mention a few. Also, projects such as the Augustana Hockey Arena, Sanford Virtual, Maguire Iron and St. Joseph Rectory are carrying us over into the new year.
As we look to 2024, we are optimistic about the future workload for Fiegen Construction. We have new projects starting, such as the new Mapleton Golf Club, Sammons Financial Remodel, Meridian Eye Care, Country Club of Sioux Falls, and Dental Care Associates. Also, we are actively interviewing or pursuing many job opportunities in and around Sioux Falls, recently presenting to a regional bank wanting a new corporate headquarters and being shortlisted for the SF Regional Airport Expansion. The Sioux Falls market has slowed from the previous two years but we believe there is plenty of opportunity for work ahead of us. The financial markets are hinting at a mild recession approaching us in 2024, but we believe that the Midwest, Sioux Falls especially, looks to continue growing at a steady pace.
