Massive Precast Ramp Transforming the Riverfront
Some may think parking ramps are a necessity and unattractive - we would disagree at Fiegen Construction. The central structure for the new Sioux Falls riverfront development "The Steel District" is a work of art and engineering.
This 8 level, 900 vehicle parking ramp structure is self-load-bearing on exterior wall panels and interior shear wall - totaling roughly 1,000 precast pieces. The total precast concrete project is manufactured, sequenced, delivered, and erected with local labor and equipment.
Battling mother nature became a common theme throughout this project. With record wind and rain days for 2022, the Fiegen Construction team led the way in planning and coordination by developing multiple engineered and sequenced pick plans while keeping personnel safe from start to finish.
