"Forging the Future" - Design/Build Project

The Maguire Fabrication Plant is a 75,000-square-foot steel and precast concrete structure.  The fabrication floor encompasses 68,000 square-feet and is equipped with 15 overhead cranes, five jib cranes, a 1.3M lb. force steel press, two steel-bending rollers, two paint booths, a blast booth, along with other essential water tower manufacturing equipment.

The two-story office space, spanning 7,000 square feet, is dedicated to plant personnel, with all office areas offering panoramic views of the production floor. Both the interior and exterior of the building boast striking design elements such as glass features, metal panels, polished concrete, exposed steel beams, trusses and columns, and natural paint tones complemented by woodgrain accents.

This building has been strategically designed with solatubes to maximize natural light, along with an HVAC and exhaust system to keep employees comfortable year-round. Maguire prioritizes employee well-being by providing healthy food options on-site and promotes physical activity through various amenities, including an on-site wellness room for employee use, a training room for educational opportunities, walking paths, bike racks and gardening stations. These sustainable features contribute to the facility’s Fitwel certification.

The steel and precast of this building was erected in just 8 weeks, and all 18 rooftop units were set in place in 45 minutes by helicopter. Constructed during a tough South Dakota winter, this project was completed in just 12 months.  The Maguire Campus is located on the north side of Sioux Falls, in a newly developed industrial park off I-90.
