Q3 Letter - Thoughts From Leadership

Fiegen Shop Talk

I’ve always loved Fall in South Dakota. The trees are changing colors, there’s no shortage of football games to watch and it’s always fun to start thinking about spending time with friends and family during the holiday season. Fall in South Dakota provides a great reminder for me to be grateful for my life in our state.

Luckily for me, I now have one more reason to love the Fall season. Earlier this month, I married my best friend. With the new addition of an October wedding anniversary, I can’t help but continue to think of how lucky Rachel and I are to work, live and raise our family in this community.

South Dakota is great for many reasons. For a community of our size, we’re fortunate to have events like the Sanford International Golf Tournament, the Summit League Basketball Tournament, rodeos, concerts, downtown activities and more. Soon enough, we’ll have the chance to watch Augustana compete in Division One hockey at a brand new, state of the art facility (proudly built by Fiegen Construction). Whether it’s sporting events and entertainment or charitable giving and providing support to those who need it most, our tight-knit community delivers more than any other.

While the rest of the world faces uncertainty and businesses brace for an economic slowdown, I’m even more grateful to live in South Dakota. Our team has been working at capacity in 2022 and as we look forward to 2023, our project pipeline looks great and I’m excited for the upcoming opportunities. I’m not saying South Dakota won’t face economic adversities, but because of honest, principled clients and world-class employees, there’s no other place I’d rather be.

As the leaves continue to fall and the Christmas Party invites start rolling in, take a minute to be grateful for our community. I know I am.
