2025 Q2 Letter - Thoughts From Leadership

People Behind the Projects

There’s something about summer that makes the momentum feel even stronger. The weather is warmer, the days are longer, and the pace on our jobsites picks up with purpose. As construction progresses and milestones are met, this season we're taking a moment to focus on what truly drives our projects forward: our people.

From longtime team members setting the example for the next generation to students stepping into the field through scholarship programs, this letter is all about the human side of construction—and why it matters more than ever.

Passing the Torch

We’re proud to have a team that spans generations—and we’re working intentionally to make that an advantage. Our training program pairs experienced professionals with newer team members to pass on not just technical knowledge, but the values and standards that set our work apart.

The training covers a full range of skills, including safety practices, technical know-how, site organization, and professional communication. It’s about preparing people for more than the task at hand—it’s about preparing them for a successful career.

To make sure the program works for everyone, we recently held a town hall meeting to gather input directly from the field. The feedback helped shape how we move forward, and it’s something we’ll continue to build on. We want this to be an ongoing conversation—one that helps every team member grow and succeed.

Build Dakota: Sustained Growth

This year marks a big milestone for two of our team members—Alex and Carter, who officially graduated from the Build Dakota Scholarship Program and transitioned into full-time roles here at Fiegen. Their growth over the last two years has been fun to witness, and we’re proud to continue supporting their careers as they step into what’s next.

At the same time, we’re welcoming the next class into the program. Connor and Tyler just began their Build Dakota journey, becoming our 14th and 15th recipients to date. Signing Day at Southeast Technical College was a reminder that there are smart, hardworking students choosing construction as their future—and we’re excited to be part of that path forward. This program doesn’t just offer funding—it offers opportunity, mentorship, and a strong start with a team that’s invested in their success.

As summer heats up, so does the pace on our jobsites—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. To every team member showing up early, staying late, and keeping things moving: thank you. We’re proud of the work we do and the people we do it with.

Here’s to a safe, productive, and memorable season.
